Most of us are happy to give advice when asked. And we do so in the spirit of goodwill, aiming to use our experience to help and to guide. So never fear asking for advice. Just make sure you respect the source, then use it wisely. ~Patrick Lindsay Talk to everyone around you. Gather as much experience and information you can from people that have experienced different things then you. Ask the young and the old for their thoughts and advice with whatever it is that you are struggling with. It helps so much to gather information from all walks of life to make a plan for your own.

Bravery is needed to have contrary opinions and to take unexpected paths. If you’re not courageous, you’re going to be hanging around the water cooler, talking about the guy who actually is.
-Jessica Hagy Ben and I were talking about how we can be better about living life and enjoying the beauty of the world around us and that led to the question of, Who in our lives has just rocked at exploring the world and broadening their understanding of life? This is a tough person to pick because while some people in the past 7 years have amazing party stories, others have a house full of amazing children, some have traveled what seems to be the entire world, and some friends have just flown by the seat of their pants. If you cant think of anyone who you are proud of that lives life to the fullest tag to tell them, because it's not easy being brave. Most of us are happy to give advice when asked. We have been snowed in for two days now. Got really close to having a tree fall on the house, both the tool cat and the neighbors tracker plow broke down, the dirt road is still packed with snow and we are out of milk haha. Ben and I have been hunkered down drinking lots of coffee and hot chocolate. It has been so nice to be home together with nothing to do but play in the snow and get our projects done. We are so thankful for our neighborhood. We combines 3 households food for breakfast this morning and it was delicious. Winter is here, Christmas is coming and it is beautiful! Its never to late to be silent.
Silence can show your depth. It can draw out the truth. It can be eloquent. It can disarm. It can cool passions. Sometimes it takes more courage than to speak out. Sometimes its just smarter/ ~Patrick Lindsay I always envy people who are more reserved then myself. I have a few friends who, for the first few times you meet them, just sit back and watch the people around them. It gives them time to know if the people they are hanging out with are crazy. Often times I am to late in figuring that info out and accidentally make 10 crazy new friends. But you know what? They are a heck of a lot of fun so maybe its not so bad. Talk about a Charlie Brown Christmas tree. I was in the kitchen thinking what the heck why is it so dark in here. Poor thing.
2 more days of snow I think we are measuring at 7 inch as of now! Nobody can prevent you from finding peace. Unless you empower them. If something is stopping you from reaching it, act on it. If its outside your powers, stop worrying about it. Peace comes from within. ~ Patrick Lindsay This morning we are so thankful to take the morning to relax. It was so nice to see even just the little bit of snow that came in the night. It was like flipping Norman Rockwell in our yard this morning. I even saw a bunny. ![]() Art is such a huge part of our lives. Ben not only has a love for photography but his true passion is for illustration and design. Too often we make our own cages: of the mind or the heart. We have the keys to unlock them. We only need the will to use them. Unlock your heart, love freely. Block your mind, live freely. ~ Patrick Lindsay We are looking forward to this weeks holiday. It is so nice to get that extra day off to spend time with family, rest and finish some projects. I think I am most excited to set up our Christmas tree and decorations. It makes me smile when I can light up these early dark nights with Christmas lights. Make Notes
So many good ideas are lost in the no-man’s-land between the mind and the record. Whether its a journal, a notebook, or a computer screen, record your important thoughts. Rereading them often reignites them…… or transforms them into something extraordinary. ~ Patrick Lindsay We are always coming up with ideas especially when we are traveling and trying to let our brains settle down. Funny how that works. Ben is so good about taking a drawing book with him everywhere. We are still working on finalizing this years Tales of the Grove to be ready to order in December. |
