You can wait passively for your future to unfold, or you can take the initiative and create your own. Sure, there will be many things you can’t control. But there will be many more over which you have power. At the very least, play a leading role. Plan the future of your dreams.
You might be thinking I am missing a vowel. Especially if you know me personally... But it's correct. I don't really understand it but both #czechand #slovak languages do this frequently. I love it. The name #brno is so simple.
While hiking in the Czech Republic, to one of the largest churches I have ever seen. The church was so intricate and beautiful. Bigger then I could have expected.
Around back was something a bit different and interesting. I am no expert, but I believe a couple of popes were buried back there, the headstone looked like the illustration above.
why would the headstone have a set of hands climbing out? Is it a resurrection thing? Very interesting at the least. #lettering #church #bible#micron #travel #europe
Those who accomplish things are not necessarily the most brilliant. Nor the most gifted. They are the ones who never give in. Inspiration is just the start. Whatever the obstacle. Whatever the opposition. However long it takes. See it through.
Put yourself out there, be positive, know you can do it and have trust in God.
Right outside the church our friends work for is a used book library. It was a little space filled with books and beautiful victorian furniture. The special thing about this place is not only is it a bar/coffee/ book shop, it is all based on an honor system.
If you take a book please just bring it back when your done reading it.
As we get older, it becomes increasingly more difficult to seek adventure. We want to be efficient so we find routine. Routine is prosperous and can be healthy when used right. So often we get trapped in our day to day losing our curiosity to boredom. Step back, break your daily routine and you will find adventure.
My normal weekend consists of drawing, computer work, and lots of television. Today I decided... No tv. Less computer work. And a lot of drawing. Not so different, but I did recruit my mother in laws three dogs for a brainstorm session and critiques while I worked. Very helpful. The smallest changes can lead to great things. Good luck!
One of my favorite things I saw traveling in Slovakia was that you can bring your dog almost anywhere. It was so much fun walking into coffee shops, bars and other public places and seeing people with their family pet. When I first saw this I wondered how well it worked. How does everyone have a pet that can behave in all these different settings. I was pleasantly surprised that all the dogs I saw with their owners were so relaxed and well behaved. Even breeds that are typically high strung. It made me wish I could bring Ellie my families Labrador everywhere.
Just for Today
Just for today I will live through the next 12 hours and not tackle my whole life’s problems at once.
Just for today I will improve my mind. I will learn something useful. I will read something that requires effort, thought and concentration.
Just for today I will be agreeable. I will look my best, speak in a well-modulated voice, be courteous and considerate.
Just for today I will not find fault with friend, relative or colleague. I will not try to change or improve anyone but myself.
Just for today I will have a program. I might not follow it exactly, but I will have it. I will save myself from two enemies – hurry and indecision.
Just for today I will exercise my character in three ways. I will also do a good turn and keep it a secret. If anyone finds out, it won’t count.
Just for today I will do two things I don’t want to do, just for exercise.
Just for today I will be unafraid. Especially will I be unafraid to enjoy what is beautiful and believe that as I give to the world, the world will give to me.
Our cousins helped us navigate our way through #Austria. We saw more statues then we could count and two beautiful palaces. We visited a Russian memorial and a home rumored to be rented by Adulf Hitler. Scary, yet amazing things.
We ended the night with an amazing meal at 1516 brewery, maybe one of the best burgers I have ever had.
There are a few places we look for when we travel. We always try to find the best cup of coffee and unique book stores. This book store was both. There were great little places to sit and check out the books. This one was fun because it looked like a huge lamp you sit under.
One neat thing they sell are adult coloring books. I made sure to get an Alice in Wonderland themed coloring book. It is supposed to be a good way to relax your mind.
Ben and I have this really great habit of taking rim pictures. So much so that we have a ridiculous album on our personal pages dedicated just to rim photos. Every once in a while we will get a photo from a friend to add to our collection . We saw this perfect opportunity on the streets of Brno, Czech Republic. If you look in the back ground you see the Cathedral of Saints Peter and Paul, so thats kinda cool.
