Sometimes when you are out in the wilderness you just can't bring your phone or nice camera with you to document the trip. It's just to risky. When Ben and I go snow shoeing, snowmobiling, kayaking or climbing this is our camera we bring. The Pentax adventure proof camera is shockproof, waterproof, coldproof, and crush proof. We have tested almost every one of those claims. It's affordable and does the job well. We have been using it for 3 years now.
