When Sarah asked if we would go out to her families old coal mine way out of town I thought for sure we were going to get murdered. But curiosity prevailed and we agreed to travel up north for their engagement session. Long story short we are both still alive and have some awesome photos to show for it. Ryan and Sarah you guys were so natural in front of the camera you made our jobs easy. We loved that you brought Scout along he was such a good boy. My favorite part was when your dad found a huge Bull snake right under where Ben was just shooting from. If it were me I would have freaked.
Congratulations you guys and we cant wait to celebrate your wedding.
We were so exited to take you both to Dillons (our sons) favorite spot. The long golf cart ride was worth the location because man did we have some pretty light to work with. My favorite part of this shoot was when we were all done and we got the golf cart stuck and Lexi had to drive it out with us pushing it. My second favorite part is when we got James to take his boots off for the water shots. James you are such a good sport those photos are some of my faves.
Everything was perfect on your wedding day. It was so funny finding out all the different ways we were connected to your families. From me lifeguarding with your sister to Ben working with your mom years ago we felt like part of the family.
My favorite part of this day was Mikes reaction to you when he turned for the first look. As he turned around he covered his mouth and exclaimed “HOLY MOSES!”
During the dance Ben made best friends with the cutest little boy that wanted to see all the photos that Ben was taking it was just so cute.
What a wedding!
Carissa you were absolutely stunning in your wedding dress and I think one of my favorite parts of the day was Jons reaction when he turned around and saw you for the first time. He was absolutely blown away! We lucked out so much with the weather. I am so glad that you guys wanted to take your photos out side. Meeting at the waters edge was just so romantic ……. there were even ducks!
There were so many funny moments of this day its hard to pick just one. I absolutely loved all the speeches at the reception hearing stories about Jon as a kid was just hilarious. Your mother certainly had her hands full with you two boys and now poor Carissa does too.
Lets go on a date. Lets take some time for you and me to smile and laugh. Lets watch the sun and make a fire. Let me pass you wine and tell you I love you.
You guys are amazing! It is so much fun when we get couples who share our love for adventure and the great out doors. There were so many special little moments during this amazing day I don't even know where to start let alone pick a favorite. There are very few weddings that we shoot where the grooms first look at his bride is during the ceremony. My heart just exploded when I saw Miguels reaction to Kelsie walking toward him. The love between you both is just amazing. Another wonderful moment was after Kelsies dads speech a familiar voice started singing over the speakers. Kelsies late grandfather was singing “You are my Sunshine”. It was one of the most touching moments I have ever experienced.
Congratulations to you both and cheers to your many adventures ahead.
Congratulations you two! What a beautiful wedding oh my gosh. Seriously the trees, decor, flowers, dresses…. everything was just perfect. One of the moments that I loved was the father daughter dance. They started out with a normal ol loving dance and scratched into a Johnny Cash classic! When Johnny started singing the look on your dads face was just amazing.
Congratulations Ryan and Tabs!
This weekend we shot the Ude wedding. It went by so fast one minute we were at Starbucks for coffee and then in a blink of an eye we were eating at the Amvets. Jenny and Cole, your wedding party was amazing to work with. Everyone was so rapid fire with our photos it made for an easy catch up with time. I think the funniest thing was when we were at the reception. I looked over and one of the little girls was eye balling your turbo cake. After checking it out for a few seconds she reached up and grabbed the sides of it pushing on it and poking it. I had to get up and tell her “Hey honey thats a cake we shouldn’t be touching that” . She was pretty embarrassed because she didn't realize it was a food haha.
We hadn't seen Laura and Dan since their engagement photos last year and man was it nice to see them again. We were all meeting at the Park when I said casual to Dan wouldn't it be fun if we went on the Ferris-wheel ? He looked at me and said “CAN WE?”. So I rushed over to the ticket place and a few minutes later we were loading the entire wedding party on the ride. Congratulations you guys we loved spending your special day with you and your family. This was one fun wedding!
And might I just add you had a fabulous personal attendant!
We had been looking forward to this wedding all year! On the country road to Buffalo Gap ranch we went over a hill and long behold there was a rattle snake in the middle of the road. I turned to Ben and said I think this is going to be an Adventure day. We were correct, Rachael and Tayler are true adventures. Not only do they love everything we love but they were open to walking around in dirt, cactuses, and rattle snake infested prairie knowing that it would be all worth it for the perfect shot. My favorite part of this wedding was the first look. It was the funniest we have ever been a part of as well as being one of the most heart melting. These two explorers have so much love for each other. At the end of the day Ben and I drove back to Medora pouting that they didn't live closer. Rachael and Tayler next time you go on an adventure and need some happy campers to join call us up!
We have the pleasure of documenting weddings all over the Midwest. This blog is a fun sneak peek for those brides and grooms.
